Just wondering if an ECU from a 1.4 16 valve corsa would work in a 1.6 16 valve engine? if not how about removing the 2 programable chips from the 1.6 ecu and putting them in the 1.4?

Main problem is the immobiliser.
If you swap the chips in the keys over then you could swap the ecu's over.

trouble is getting the engine with matching key and barrel thats why i asked if i could just use my existing setup with chips swapped over

You could try it but if the immobiliser code was in one of the two chips then it stil wouldn't work.
Worth a try though!
