I know the engines are getting pretty old now and you'd be very lucky to find one that had done less than 80,000 miles already. What I want to know is when you put the engine in your car how did it sound? Not talking about the induction sound or the exhaust but the actual engine. I mean does it sound like an old engine i.e tappets going ballistic etc..
You know what I mean. Just wondering...

patrick they sound just like a astra GSI or whatever they came out of. If the engine is good then it will sound no different to a normal 2.0 but if its fucked then it will sound crap...

I admit, I do want to sell.
...But I don't think I am going to get what I am after! So I am returning my car to near standard. Putting some 14" Sport wheels on tonight, hopefully getting a standard front bumper pretty soon, then car will look pretty standard on the outside apart from colour co-ordination. Then I will be selling my engine and going for a standard 2.0 16v conversion and keeping it at that.
Above, is if don't sell obviously. Should be getting my new car within the next couple of weeks hopefully.

So if you're getting you new car (which is likely to be fast as u always bang on about speed etc) why have a standard looking 2.0 16v corsa, and with 14's what brakes u got?

I was at a meeting actually!
I just like the idea of having a standard looking 2.0 16v. My new car will not be mucked around with like I have done to this one and won't be ragged around everywhere so the Corsa will just be a fun car. Thats if I don't find a buyer for it.

What are the biggest brake discs you can get under the standard 14" wheels? Might have to make do with some uprated Gsi discs and some decent pads.

15"s on a 195/45 have the same radius as the 14" Sport wheels on a 165/65 tyre.
U can fit the 16v brakes under 14"s.

My engine sounds a wee bit tappy on start up but once warmed up its ok, just search for a good one cause there are loads around too choose from.

Have checked everything and can find no reason for it, has only done two so was a bit of an exaggeration, one was second hand and no idea with the other one.
