i've tried to lower two corsas now.... i couldn't get the top bolt off the front struts cause the whole damper started to twist.
in the end i had to take it to a garage to get the nut off.
what kind of tool do you need.
i know you need something that will hold the damper so that the net will twist off, but i didn't have it in me garage.
pi55ed me off cause i couldn't do it on mine, or my m8s
i also need to know cause im changing my dampers to proper ones... n e suggestions fairly priced ones. Does it matter what dampers i get in terms of how low my springs are (40 mil) ??

sometimes that top bolt comes off first time sometimes it doesnt. most times it comes off first time.
dont know of any tools that you can buy to help with this though - other than wd-40.
on my car it stuck on one side but since i was in a garage and was feeling brave i just clamped damper with mole grips, stood on it and span bolt with an air gun lol
did the job - wouldnt recommend doing that though lol

erm, you use a ring spanner on the nut and hold the middle bit with an allen key bit.

Deep impact socket - about 18mm i think and use a air-gun on it to do it up and undo it. Works for me everytime, dont try and grip the piston with grips bacause you'll mar it and it will do the damper seals no good when it travels down into the damper...
