Rite ive been thinking about getting an economical car, as I should be movin to uni soon. Wanna spend about £1500, £2K max. Diesel would probably be best and as new as possible. Thought about a 306 Diesel, any other suggestions?

18 secs to 60 - bit slower than 306 n/a but it hardly matters at that kind of exciting rate of acceleration

if you drive off boost they do silly mpg, if u drive it hard they obviously use more fuel. turning the boost up uses shitloads more fuel. try getting a nova td cos they weigh less, hence more mpg.

306 D Turbo - the bollox.

50mpg easy as std

however, use an in car boost controller, up the fueling, get Allard performance to have a fiddle for ya and fit a bigger intercooler, and u got urself 125bhp and over 200lb of torque!!!

Oh and mpg only drops a bit

Well as standard, u got insruance group 5, loadsa miles to the gallon, one of the best + most reliable diesel engines going + a well decent car that comes with it.

The 1.9D Pug 306 engine is very solid, but absolute pants performance wise.

Matt
