The heat shield on my exhaust manifold is very loose. I was just wondering how important it is, and if i removed it, what problems it would cause if i didnt replace it?
Thank you

Hey matey
I've got an aftermarket set of extractors on my GSi. I never replaced the heat shield, mainly cos I would have had to make new mounts for it, as it's mounted on to the standard manifold. I've never had a problem, and I can't see any real reason why you ever would. Especially with the front grill/airdam directly in front of it.
Rip it off, and get a set of hot headers. Looks way better anyway!
