is there anyway of telling which head ive got on my xe ( coscast or shitty ) without taking it off ?

on the disribuor side underneath it there is a z shaped casting on the head itself if it is.

the ledge direclty above the pipe that goes across then up the across to left again just to the left of the hole..........i know its a bad description..........lol

not much difference except they don't get pourous. dunno about price as i'm trying to swap it for a vectra gsi gearbox

i thought they were all the same bhp, only difference is build quality ie porous/non porous

coscast still go porous (its rare though)

only difference between em is the casting method

and it will have a stamp that says coscast in inlet manifold area (when engines in car youd read coscast upset down from under engine bay)

a gsi c20xe with a coscast is 150bhp with out 150bhp de cat about 153bhp the same as the 20xe the coscast head doesn't change performance just less likly to go porous unlike geniune gm heads
