need to make one of them boot disks. go to my computer, right clcik a drive (floppy disk), click format disk, choose create ms-dos boot disk. restart the computer with that in the a drive and it will initiate the reformat. make sure you have a copy of everything you want to keep!

do you know what it does?!?! it completely erases the hard drive. evverything is lost and will have to be re-installed. i explained the procedure for creating a boot disk which will begin the reformat process. its not something i would recomend for beginners

try a system restore - start, all programs, accessories, system tools, system restore. Take it back to when you first got it.

I know fvck all about computers so dont blame me if it all goes wrong

Just trying to help.

If you don't know what you are doing then i would take it back to the shop you bought it from. I haven't got a clue how i got into the computer shit, it's just something i found i was good at.

Start

All Programs

Accessories

System Tools

System Restore

Go back to the first date and it will erase all programs, directories, registry entries etc after that date

It's Windows XP!!!

If you gonna do that mate then use a Win96/98/Me boot disk to do it. If you have an IDE CD Rom that is set to boot before you Hard Drive then bung that in, start you machine and follow on screen instructions. As you haven't got a glue what you are on about then i wouldn't mess in the BIOS to change the booting devices, you can always download 6 floppy disks that will allow you to boot from.
