When police check your speed with a radar gun, do they usually do it from the front or the back of the car?

I was drivin thru country lanes goin towards welwyn, they never got me from the front, but when I looked back he was aiming right at me, I slowed rite down by then, but I still aint convinced.....it was a 40 limit, when I checked my speedo it was on 41ish, so I reckon he got me bang on 40

A friend of a work client went past what he thought was a mobile camera unit. He was a bit concerned as he was going 'a wee bit fast', so he went back to check if it was. Unfortunately for him it was. Letter came through 2 days later... clocked at 139mph. Might be the fastest recorded speed in Scotand.

If you were only doing 41 u were ok, you're allowed 10% (so in this case 4mph) and 2mph, therefore you would have to have been going 46 for them to nick u

I thought i got done on a Speed Camera and asked people on here what i should do. I was doing 30 in a 30 limit but the camera flashed twice; never heard nothing so i think i'm OK but people were saying diffrent things, like they only got off at 36 MPH

I can understand the 10%, but where does the 2mph come from?

I thought it was just 10% meaning he'd get away with 44mph?
