I had my 6x9's running on my standard hu for quite a few months and was fine! Loads better than standard rear speakers.

Standard H/U as in Vauxhall/Phillips H/U? Wouldnt think it'd be that good. Better than standard but not that good.

will be not bad... mate has some in his punto sporting... sounds nice... better ran off a suitable amp, no damage can be done though really.
But if your using a dealer standard HU, then not worth it

Well I've fitted them and the increase in quality is unbelieveable. It's really clear and the bass id good. I'm really impressed, it goes nice and loude now
I had the same speakers with pioneer 8400mp and alpine V12 amp in my last car and it sounded great. Considering this doesnt have the amp and just a standard h/u it's top notch
The headunit is a standard pug one (clarion) with standard 6 disk changer.
