This is what I do / DID!!

I either had a great story about my car, or when conversation dried up would always try to kick start it about cars! not intentional, just a subject that I knew quite a bit about and enjoy talking about!

Of course my mates some who claimed to like cars started getting annoyed (well the one's who didn't know about cars / can't drive got v.annoyed and bored) everytime I started talking cars...

Now when I see them even if I mention a car SLIGHTLY they go 'oh dear, pauls talking about Cars AGAIN!' ... bit pathetic - since they can talk about cars for ages and I won't say a thing, as soon as I try to join in they rip me to shit

Probably half the reason I like going to CS meets, you know the people at the Cruises / CS meets also have a interest in cars

oh well, Paul J

Thats the thing though - I have different sets of mates, some of them just don't care about cars / know about cars...

These people make me not want to mod my car, as they will look at me and go 'why did you spend all that money on your car' ...

These people are the sorts that went 'Cool a Sxi' ... 'Whats that mean?'

these are the people that didn't know 1.4 litres was the same as 1400cc, and have no idea how an engine works at all...

these are... you get the idea...

i can't do it either

was speaking to a dude at work who said he's doing a new commercial for shell which included him driving a modded motor. he wasn't able to grab the idea that the person who owned the car did it as a hobby and enjoyed it.

i tried to explain this to him but he could only come out with the words - "he must have a small penis" and "he could have been having fun going out instead".

i came to the conclusion that he must be a closet queen because never in my life have i come across a bloke that hasn't got a clue about cars in general.

it made me sick actually tbh cause he started calling me stupid and thick for wanting to spend money on my own car blah blah blah.... pisssed me off a right one that did

I've been into cars since i can remember lol, everytime i see a modified car, a fuckin spec list runs through my head of what its had done to it, i dont even know i'm doing it half the time, and after college when i meet up with my mates later on we always end up talking about cars, i could talk for hours about them and not get bored at all

i'm helping my mate smooth bits on his corsa and when i come home on a night i try my best to explain to my mum what i've been doing and why and she just doesnt understand lol!
