Alright i just need to ask a few questions, Me and my mate Craig smoothed his boot the other week, we only used filler to smooth the whole reg plate recess, the boot looks perfect but after speaking to someone on msn about it they reckon that it will all drop out or when its been sprayed it will sink or bubble
Right, i doubt that we can get the filler back out now its too late for that!
do you think it would be worth buying on of these smooth boot panels that bond over the whole boot?

Thanks anyways...
p.s i would like to be taken seriously rather than having the piss took outa me

The filler will either fall out or it will crack either way it will look crap within time. I would either try and get it out (chip away at it) or put a panel over it. But putting a panel over it isnt solving the problem if it falls out! U dont want filler rattling behind the panel.

yeah buy one.heat and vibrations of car will make it crack and sink.its does this because there is litte air pockets in the filler and when the paint is added it makes all the filler sink.so ive been told anyway

So what you have done is just smoothed off your original boot with filler????
If so, then i would imagine your in for bother as it will crack and fall out n shit.
Most folk on here will say get it welded all proper n shit........ but i've got one of these panels and if its fitted correctly.... its fine.......... just like any other thing.

I think u meant to either:
Filler it then Metal plate over then lots of sanding.
or
Mental plate then Fillier.

Weld a metal plate in then make the shape with filler
or
use a panel
no difference really

the panel will provide you with a perfect finish thats the difference, no need to shape the boot jus whack a panel on simple.

sounds like my kind of prob a month ago a pic below shows wat has happened after 2 months it started to sink even welded and filler, i gave up in the end coz i didnt want it looking like that.

So bought a fibreglass panel from coracentre coz i got recommended that there really good fitting and they are brill by the way mine is on allready in the bodshop at mo aint got finished results but its much smoother and shiner
