how long should a decent set of tyres e.g. michelins last on ur front wheels? how many miles. need to know to settle an arguement!

bolocks. i had new fronts 7000 miles ago maximum and they bald now. My dad says it must be the way im driving. I think hes right! No more wheelspins from now on, i cant afford it.
