i have just had -60mm springs fitted with standard shocks n it rattles n bangs like fuck. have ordered a full set of shorter shocks. will this sort the problem? and will it go any lower as its nearly scrubbing now

what kind of springs did you have fitted and what type of shocks have you orderd ?

dunno wot springs r on it now, bought em 2nd hand. they r red if that helps. the shocks i have ordered r G Max, i know ppl say they r shit but thats all i can afford n am possibly selling the car next year so didnt see the point in spending more money on it

never mix standard shocks with different springs mate u shud have a full kit of all the same

oh well, it'll be ok. think the springs r the same as the shocks i ordered - same manufacturer anyway

Thats cos the lowering spring will work at a different rate to the standard damper. The lowering spring will oscillate at too fast a rate for the standard damper (which is designed to work with a softer spring) and wear it out quickly, and give rubbish ride and handling in the meantime. Saying that, its normally ok to use standard dampers up to-40mm, and more and problems start(1st hand experience)
