- What revs to launch at?
- let the turbo idle for 1 minute as usual or longer?
- Am i gonna kill it?

- You've got 4WD so you should be able to launch with high revs. I can launch my Gti-R easily at 5000-6000rpm with out spinning it.

- Definitely make sure your engine is warm before you start. I would NEVER recommend thrashing the nuts off a car when its cold - especially on a 1/4 miles sprint

- You'll only kill it if you've upped your boost beyond what the other components (like Gearbox, Clutch, Engine) can actually handle. I know someone who bought a Bleed Valve for their scooby - whacked the boost up with out doing anything else - then blew his gearbox on the start line.

oh yeah and when you've finished the run leave your engine on for at least 2-3 minutes to get your temps down again.

Used to launch the Punto at 3-3.5k revs with handbrake on & clutch dipped so as soon as lights went green I was away with minimal spin.

Fuel economy was shite in my car also. Used to make it up there with 1/4-1/2 tank left for strip action.

If not spray it with water b4 your run.

I've done that inthe past. also sprayed the intercooler/radiatr as I was waiting in inline with bonnet up
