Ive just took my car to Blakes and they confirmed what you guys suspected, the heat shield is the culprit for my rattling.
They also said to hit it with a hammer (as you guys did  ), my question is do you need to bend it towards the manifold or away?

Doesnt that have a adverse effect tho?
Someone mentioned that they went through dwonpipes a lot quicker without one...

well longlife took mine of with a cutter. Al it does as far as i can tell is stop the downpipe hitting the ground, but mine didnt have a mark on it so they took it off.
