just tried to change the gear knob and run into a bit of bother!

after pulling off the knob (hehe!) there is a bit of yellow plactic under it - before I cut this off, can I get a replacement if / when I need to put everything back to normal?

Didn't mention that in the Max Haynes manual!

by the way it's only a 1.5d if that makes any difference.

you'll get the piece of plastic with a gear knob from a scrappy i'd imagine. I didnt have this problem as my standard one came off in one piece...
