The thermostat housing isn't plastic. Its metal. A water pump is about £15?
It is definately the thermostat housing with thermostat, vaux dont sell the thermostats seperately, i have this myself, although i was quoted £60, not £85....

Sorry, I was going by my car which is a rover and has a plastic stat housing, it isn't any worse than a metal one so they should just use a plastic one, and £60 is still way over teh top, why didn't you just get a stat from halfords and get a housing out of a scrappy

I didn't buy it, I didn't need the housing as its already there, and not perishable (and its powder coated) so I bought the thermostat for about £7 from motor factors.
