When I accelerate, around 4-5k rpm my car does this little high pitched whistling noise, is it the airbox induction? Or something else? It's not that loud or affects the car.. but I am curious to know wot it is?!

Any help would be great!

I had this on my corsa when i had the standard air box.............its just the air moving thru the airbox/induction piping.

It wont cause you any probs mate.

U could also check ur air filter element tho, just in case its that full of crap causing the whistling?

Cheers mate I got a new piperx filter coming soon any ways coz I'm gonna dril me air box so if it is full of shite then it dont matter! thx 4 ya help though!

mine makes that noise and i'm pretty sure its the alternator belt

mines started doing it at high revs and i have a k&n (aint been cleaned in nearly 2 years tho!lol)

yea i get this as well mate on my 1.2 16v. It sounds like its coming from the gearbox on mine, but it does sound right if its the alt belt, infact it could be bloody anything eitherway, it hasnt effected my car and my fokes havnt noticed it (coz there both going a tad deaf and cant hear anything high pitched ) so its all good here

Although when ya fit your piperx let me know if it goes away would like to know what it actually is

could be a split induction hose, there was a thread about this last week

lol don't confuse me ne more than I already am.. I'll put a post up when I put me panel filter in and drill the air box 2 say if the noise has stopped or not?!
