i might be able to get myself a very cheap mig welder. its runs off gas if thats any help but what im after is if anyone can tell me how had it is to pick to do?
can you get ones thats dont run off gas?
help me please as i know nothing!

a mig is electric but has a gass bottle on it it blows argon gas on the weld to stop it oxyadisein n not stickin properly

You can get gasless migs but dont bother there a waste of time.
most migs use 100% co2 or i think its 20%argon 80% co2. You can get 100% argon but i think thats for if your welding stainless etc.
Requires time and practice not something you can learn from a book but does help to know some of the theory behind what your doing.

I've got a mig welder and only use the gassless part and find its actually very good, but ainsley_braders point on the fact that u cant learn from a book are true, buy a piece of sheet steel from a bodyrepair shop and just practice welding at different temps and speeds.
Practice does indeed make perfect!
