From ET38 to ~ET45

heard it can be done by shaving the wheels hub... if thats the right word...

Anyone know of anyone had this done or done themselves? & also sorts of places it can be done.

Wheels I got only come in ET38.

U got the same wheels as me i think ?? If u have, then i reckon u would be able to machine down to about et40/41 ish, cos theres a fair chunk of metal back there. I was going to e-mail team dynamics and see what sort of safety tolerances they give to the machining of there alloys, but haven't got round to it yet

i was looking to do this aswell.
i have some renault wheels i wanted to run on my corsa. had a look at the wheel though and there's not a huge amount of metal on the mounting surface that could come off.
ie. i wanted to take off 7mm, but that would have more than halfed the thickness of the mounting face area..

mase5 - yeah there the same, amazing how much bigger they look though with the car lowered! I had a look at the back, should be ok to shave around 6mm off - maybe a few mm more aswell... On the old corsa, was lowered 60mm & had to bang the inner-arches out to stop scrubbing!

myke - you any idea where there based? there is only a mobile number for contacting them

there must be a similar place that does machining work closer to you.

you could try asking a crash repair centre where they send their wheels to, but any machine shop should be able to do it accurately providing they can clamp the rim face down onto a mill bed. ie, the spokes don't protrude past the rim.
