It's suprising the guides aren't being replaced, cause they should!! For that money you could buy an engine and use the head off it and sell on the otherbits.

Engine+box £300.
Headgasket+bolts £30
Timeig belt and roller £90
LAbour to swap heads shouldn't be more than £100
Then you can sell the bottom end, gearbox, loom+ecu on and recoupe some money

Why don't you just buy a new engine? I don't understand why people bother getting them re-built.

Cause if u do it yourself its cheap as buggery and doesnt take that long with the older engines especially. The 8v's i know for sure are basic engines anyone who has the basic knowledge can do a head on one.

I think the Eco engines are more complicated tho, so it it might not be as easy for the amateur.

The reason people rebuild is because at the end of it all, they know the condition of their engine.

However, buy my engine.

The 16v is no more difficult that the 8v, you just have 2 cam pulleys to line up.
Check out this V6 valve set. went at high revs at 50mph

Bought a new V6 for £200, sorted

Still 6 out of 32 made it through. Don't fancy those odds
