if when the car is jacked up i can shake the drivers side wheel.... does that mean that the wheelbaring is fooked?
ball joints are new top mounts are new and the track rods are new..
the car under steers badly on left hands bends... wheel spins in second gear when turing left under medium trottle and the drivers side wheel locks up under very light braking
also how is the hub held onto the hub carier?

up and down play is usually wheel bearings, and side to side play is track rod ends or the steering rack its self

front wheel bearings arent really diy jobs unless you have a hydrualic press, i doubt youll ever get the bearing out the hub without one

the reason i ask this is because i have a 1.2 8v but have a c16xe under the hood... i never changed the barings when i was doing the conversion
theres no point in me buy 1.2 8v ones if there gonna be fecked afetr a month of to with the bigger engine...

Simple, line up and press. you can get the hub out easy enough with a big hammer, just getting them in needs a press.
I'd suggest tightening the castle nut and see how loose this is first, the bearing may last a little longer if it has come loose, but it could just be wear and tare.

u may have a point here... this problem only started after i left the car in a back street garage to have a clutch done( i should have just done it myself)
maybe the took the drive shafts out completely...
hmmmm... ive been trying to trace back everything they would have loosened to get the gearbox out to change the clutch... i personally wouldn't have taken the shafts out of the hubs but maybe they did and didnt tighten them back up.....
i will check this out later before order wheel bareings......
