Crap quality, as bad as Supersport coilovers.
You can't compare coilovers to GMax which are just a budget brand of normal shock absorbers.
All are cheap, all will lower the car and give you better handling, all will be a fairly harsh ride.

Yeh ok cheers mate. Erm. Is there a specific set of shocks that are needed for a 2.0 c20xe engine wit it being heavier or will any of the uprated shocks from the likes of spax/koni etc do the job? Ive been wanting to lower it for awhile now and seems a perfect opportunity as one of the seals on the front shock as split but im also looking into a c20xe conversion over the summer so looking for a set that will be able to cope with that too...any specific suggestions?

You're *supposed* to fit uprated front springs which you should be able to get from Courtenay, Cossvaux, etc.
A lot of people fit a good Corsa suspension kit with no uprated (2.0) springs, ie Bilstein, Koni, etc.
You can get coilovers and change the main spring to a higher poundage item - available from the coilover manufacturer or from motorsport specialists.

Right thats ok then..been looking at the Koni & the Spax kits and to be fair i havnt really got that much cash to spend on them even if there the best..had a quick look on Regal and how do the Pi and APex kits fit in wit the Koni/Spax ------> Gmax / FK AK extremes?

Pi, Apex, Gmax and FK's AK/AKX range are all budget.
Personally, I'd avoid Pi, FK's AKX springs (actually High Tec springs) are quite good.
GMax and Apex are both around the same, you can pick them up fairly cheap and Rimstyle are doing a group buy on GMax shortly IIRC, or get in on their FK group buy order.
Don't sell yourself short, you'll regret it in the long run - spend an extra £150 on a Koni kit.
I've got GSi front shocks and springs with an XE and it's not actually that bad. Ride is comfy but handling is non-existant as you'd expect.
