i can hear a sort of hissing-induction sound from the cat area under full throttle press, its only 2 months old and been doing it since i fitted it! could it be due to it being a cheap cat? i got if for £100 brand new???
vaux charge over £250 for new cat!!
im sure all the joints are nicely sealed.. however the down pipe to cat maybe a lil loose at the gasket!???

i had a brand spanking new one from ats fitted and it seems to make funny hissing noises, i just done the mot and changed it back again lol

ditto, although mine needs a new manifold gasket as mine doesnt have one. I hope it solves the probem as im trying to sell the car.

hmm so it seems it is a problem with cheap Catylic converters?
OR maybe they take a while to settle in??
but if not, is their anyway to stop this soundthe cat makes??
i need to check the manifold down pipe to cat conenction just incase its leaking from their BUT would this leak only make this sound under full throttle??

mine makes a hissing noise but thats because it has a hole in it, re-check all the seals

may be fitting kit which fits to the manifold theres a little ring which molds in to shape if its new it will mold in to shape off the heat if its old it may have detrerated has its just compressed metal stuff!
