sounds better than my 1.2 8v is doing but i hear the 1.2 has to work harder than the 1.2, thus uses more petrol anyway

80miles to a tenner is better than 40-50miles

lots of things, heavy right foot, correct gearing, motorway miles or 'down the shops' miles etc. i find a tenner will last me 110 miles ish in my 1.4 sport

2.0
but my 1.4 wasnt getting much better milage, about 80-90miles to £10, it soon after died, and judging by the sparkplugs when we took them out, it was overfueling by alot

how do you stop it overfueling?
had it on the vauxhall computers before, and it kept changing between rich/lean every second?
ive tried driving it different styles and i still dont get any extra miles for my money!
max i get it 50 miles out of a 10er
any other suggestions, anything i could check? clean? change?
its got a shitty induction kit on think i may put standard airbox on again with the drilled holes, as that what i used to have before, but surely this cant cause such bad milage?
had an engine conversion too, so maybe loose vacuums or something? would that cause it?

lots of things could cause it to run rich, sadly my wisdom does not include engines or engine problems
when i put a BFO filter on, it gave me less milage, and it just got worse and worse. try putting the standard airbox back on, put a tenner in, do your normal driving stylee and see what happens?

im gonna take my k&n out and put a standard filter in, and see how much mpg i get. on about 75 to a tenner just now, which is quite poor.

its not just air boxes and things...where do you drive for example? if you are doing a lot of stop start motoring i.e. in town you will use more fuel than keeping a consistent speed on the motorway. harsh acceleration and deceleration will put your mpg down as well as will bad tyre pressures as mentioned above...just some thoughts for ya

so 100 miles to a tenner in a 1.4 16v is still possible? i used to get that but that was a couple of years ago which was the days when a tenner would take my fuel gauge upto the 20ltr (half way) mark now never gets near it! perhaps i should take my pipercross off and get a normal air filter it was on the car when i had it and i never bothered to change it.

Petrol prices change and also vary all round the country volume of petrol doesn't change. Would be better to say how many miles do you get to say 15 litres then its a better comparison
