Right got my new EGR coming towards the end of this week,... you have to take the battery out and header tank off anyway to fit the new valve, my question is will leaving the battery off for 30 mins reset the ecu and clear the faults on the ECU, i cant clear the faults using tech2 because of the fact i still have the 1.2 16v diog plug and it doesnt work for the 1.6
Cheers Sorry for the essay

Corsa 1.6 litre 16 Valve
97 on 2 Delco Multec F MPi
CKYF
16214249
XED6CKYF
could even narrow it down to a chassis number if you want
to reset fault codes leave the battery disconnected for 1 hour. then it may also need 30 'clean' starts (starts without em light coming on)
i say it may need 30 clean starts, but its unlikely. some of the late (97-98)delco mpi ecu's had this feature where as all of the simtec ecu's had it (98-> )
fountain of knowledge

probably wont have to tbh.
just fit the valve, leave battery off for 1 hour, drive it and hope the em light doesnt come on
an egr fault will not affect the performance of the car, whereas a cam/crank sensor will.

alrite calm down im still pissed off cause i blanked it off and it was the same but i think the valve is touching on the blanking plate like when it moves cause there is a clicking noise at part throttle so i think ill fit it with just a normal gasket to start with ..

clean as much of is as you can. also clean inside where the blanking plate is on the side of the inlet manifold. spray it with carb cleaner.
