this is for a friend of mine
hes got a 1995 Corsa 1.4 16V (X14XE) SRI, he bought this car with the engine blown, so he swapped the engine on it, but the engine came out of a later "Sport", 1997 R reg, so he put the ecu and engine loom off the old engine onto the new engine because the ecu was faulty for the old engine. The Knock sensor on the old engine was the earlier type with only 1 pin connection. On the new engine it had a later type knock sensor with a 2 pin connector. he has got the car running but when you drive off the engine management light comes on. He has had the diagnostic computer put on the car and it came up with the knock sensor open circuit. Will he have to get the ecu off an earlier X14XE engine or should he just replace the knock sensor and see if the fault goes away.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated..
Many thanks

yes, its easier to get a 1 pin plug one, to match the loom plug.
then you will need to swop the position of the 'ks' wire round on the loom plug.

and it will work
(as you may have guessed, ive dont this a few times )
