The whole of the bit under the bonnet where you put your hand to lift up the bonnet has rust on it, I've got some hammerite rust remover, and I was just wondering if there anything else to use to get it off quickly, or do I just have tp perservere? It seems to be taking ages!
Also, I'll have to paint it again, can I paint over the rust once I've treated it?

with the hammerite stuff it should be Rust removal primer( what i used on my mini ) and if so then yes you can paint on it. But if its just rust remover then it might be a better idea to primer it then paint it.

Yeah, I'm using the remover first ,then the primer, it's just taking ages for the rust to go.Once it's off do you just paint the primer on, or sand the metal?

if its like the stuff i had, it actualy hardens the rust, then you can spray over the top to make it really tought.
