i had a look around for some corsair memory, i could not find any 1gb 3200 400mhz!!

but i did find this:

http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/63631

corsair 1gb ddr2 533mhz cl4,
according to the crucial ram detector, i should be able to use this speed memory?? but im not sure if this corsair memory in particular will work

is crucial memory any good, or good as corsair??

Crucial is good stuff, but DDR2 might not be compatible with your board. DDR2 uses different spacial voltages

spacial voltages... wtf??? duno what idiots guide book you read that in, but there is no such thing...

if his pc has regular DDR then no matter what, DDR-2 can not be used, its notched differently compared to regular old DDR...

same goes either-way, you cant use DDR-1 in a DDR-2 system... there are 'some' boards out there which will allow you to use both types of ram as they have the ddr slots for both types, but tbh I'd steer clear as it just over-complicates the motherboard...

your system will most likely be using the old DDR-1 type memory, so as mentioned, look for something with good timings, but in all fairness, there is very little difference in performance between DDR2 and DDR1
