and this is on a 8mb line.. i dont know what swrong with it.
Are you sure you are on broadband? Seems like dialup on speed (excuse the pun)!
The upstream would suggest it's broadband, the downstream would suggest there's either a fault with the internal wiring, a fault with the line, or very heavy contention at the exchange......or all of the above.

looks good Sam , you have to remember overheads which means you loose the top end on 2mb anyway so anything around 1800 is good.
I am 1.33km away from the Slough Main exchange according to DSLZone so that should help I think!

That'll be as the crow flies, I would imagine, so may not be amazingly accurate......unless all of your phone-lines are perfectly straight from master socket to exchange.
Good enough estimate for rough purposes, though......I'm about similar from my exchange here.

Yeah it's ATCF.
Out of interest Dan, we are with BT at the moment, is it best to stay with them and have them regrade us, or move on to someone else? I used to use virgin.net (who I think use NTL) when I used to live in Oxford and they were crap!
Only thing is with BT, = 12 month contract again...

Mostly it's down to personal preference, but have a look through the ADSLGuide forums to see current opinions of people using various ISPs, and see which has a good combination of the price you want to pay and the least number of complaints...

is that about right for the money? been a customer for years so if i phone up could i possibly get it quicker for the same coin?

Seems decent enough, for the money, on cable......may be worth phoning them up, if you're a long-time customer, and seeing if they've got any special offers running.
I know a few of the cable-companies have thrown massive amounts of bandwidth-upgrades at their customers recently...
