Right, some off you may know i've just had a performance inlet fitted, trouble is the power doesnt come in till 5,500 rpm and when it does come in, its not that impressive at all TBH. Pretty pissed off.
What can I do to make this performance inlet worth while? I.E - chip or somthing?
And, what mod do I need to do to make it come in about 1,500rpm earlier?
By the time the power comes in, it's actually time to change gear so its hardly noticeable
Thanks

remap to raise rev limit to 7,500 but then it would be advisable to fit arp rod bolts too.

Will that make the power delivery come in sooner? Where can u get re-maps from?
Take it u need a chipped ECU?

its normal for mantzels etc to push the power further up the rev range to 5,000 revs. yeah a chipped ecu and setting up should sort the problem but the power will still be at higher revs.

Didn't you also have a 4-1 exhaust manifold?

Just a copy. Rang the bloke and he said he's never had a problem with the 30 he's fitted, i can go up there and he'll have a look or I can have my money back.
He thinks there is somthing wrong witht the engine I just explained its had new piston rings, headgasket and valve stem seals and its running mint!
Will it have anything to do with air temp sensor not being connected?

the 4into1 manifold will have a similar effect, a 4-2-1 will keep the power lower.
a remap will improve things though.

There's your problem though. Like most people said when you asked about the manifold, it gives you more power, but at much higer RPM's than a 4-2-1 therefore not much good on a road car.

u need a 4-2-1 manifold. a 4-1 will push your power range stupid high!! i know the bloke,my best mates 1.4 16v is used as the demo for them, that kicks in about 4300rpm and pulls like a train!! either silly exhaust manifold needs removing or u got a problem with car!!
