Ive got an x14xe corsa sport and it started overheating when stood running for short lengths of time. Took it to vauxhall and got tech2 plugged in. Only came back with fault on egr valve.
Replaced the egr valve and fan switch, and re filled with engine coolant. When the car is moving it runs at between 90-92, but the other day when i dropped the wife off at work, i was sat waiting for no more than 5 minutes and the temp rose to just uner 100.
Is there anything else that would make the temp rise so quickly when the car is stood still. Its really doing my head in now and the wife has lost all faith in using it as she regularly gets caught in traffic on her way home.
Can anyone throw any light onto this please??

you don't need all this mate....your car is running fine...it cools down quicker when driving because of the cold air...

Why do you need it to stop reaching 100?
Whats the point?
Its running in the correct way, just leave it.

I've got a cool running thermostat and cool running fan switch on mine. Temp sits normally about 88*c and the fan kicks in about 93*c.
Didn't like mine getting to 100*c every 5 mins when I was sat in traffic.
