Cyliner 2 was the one with the bent valves and zero compression, but thats spot on now.

Cylinders 2 and 3 give the exact same reading !

Cylinders 1 and 4 give very poor readings

What have I done wrong ?

has the engine been run until warm yet?

run it until warm then do the compression test. the outer 2 cylinders take longer to warm up anyway.

once its warm everything will have expanded/contracted properly.

Surely it wont start if the compression is crap ?

get it started and warm ya big jessy.

you cant do a compression test on a cold engine.

try starting it. and report back with what happened. have you turned it over by hand to check timing and smoothness yes?
