im in the process of changing my cyl head on my xe corsa but i need a bit of advice.

do i take the head off with the inlet manifold attached or do i remove the inlet manifold while the head is still attached to the engine??

I'd keep the inlet manifold on, just remove the powercap.

I'd doubt if you get the inlet off anyway with the head still attached.

theres a fair bit to undo underneath, water hoses etc and a bracket that goes to the block. a good way to solve the problem of tight fitting xe's is to replace the headstuds with allen bolts so removal of the inletmanafold is do able without destroying the bulkhead. run the risk of stripping the threads tho so its swings and roundabouts

The inlet manifold probably wont come off without a fight in a Corsa bay so you are better off leaving it on. It's a bit tight and what you'll ned up needing to do is chopping off all the little studs poking out the bulkhead to get it free.

Remove the head with the inlet on, unless you have headstuds then you need to drop a mount.
