I am aware that i need a new cv joint, as far as i know its the outer one

My car knocks on full lock in both directions, it doesnt knock 24/7.
It knocks worse on full left-lock than it does full right, would this just be simply a case of needing 2 new outer cv joints? (drivers and passengers side)

or something more

I'd say so yeah.
Usually its the cv at fault thats the opposite to the direction you turn in when it knocks.
i.e. Turn left, knocks, its the outer right cv.

But in your case it seems both outer cv's are gone. Does the cv boot look split? Any grease been chucked out of it?
