taking the 1.6 off the road for the winter, have a 1.2 16v to run around in for next few months.
want to do some work to the 1.6, brakes, suspension and engine.
currently has 105k, do i rebuild this engine or source another 1.6 with less miles? (can do easily as mate works in scappy, already got me free rsx coilovers).
also are standard parts ok for rebuild? ie: valves, valve springs etc ( not too sure on names of all parts) or is it an idea to get uprated parts when rebuilding?
Thanx

all depends what you have in mind for the future really.
Could whack some arp rod bolts in there as they are a weak point in the engine and are handy if you ever want to get a remap and raise the rev limit in the future

No need in an uprated HG on a standard engine. Waste of money.

deffo arp rod bolts and sbd metal rollers though. As with the cams you will probably want to remap it and rasie the rev limit to get the best from them
