If the tracking was WAY out, as in basically veering off when you let go off the steering wheel, can it affect you acceleration etc?

yes it will; you will not be getting maximum traction due to the tyres going in different directions. Bad tracking can cause a loss of power on the rolling road

Got the tracking done, manages to spin the tires now, wouldnt do it at all before

It just bogged down before, takes off at least now, with a bit of spinning when you give it the boot.
Its still a 1.2 8v though, so no quickness

bit of Transmission fluid on them tyres will make them smoke good also will make you crash into anything and everything as you will not have any grip for a good 20 miles afterwards lol. if you wanmt loss of traction wheel spin in a puddle or something.
