ooooh,

I'm quite liking this

HP Pavillion DV9605 on offer for £499 (reduced from £699)

Love the widescreen at home

Not sure if its the laptop or Vista.....but turning the thing on/off is like a light switch....on, is instantly to desktop...off, turns it off

I've probably been living in the dark ages, but having a silent lappy that boots without me making a coffee in the meantime is a joy

wheres that from? i was thinking of swapping my PC in for a laptop as i dont just dont need it anymore.

are you definately turning it off? the power button on the start menu just sends it to sleep, when you press the power again it wakes it up. to turn it off you have to press the little arrow next to it and select shut down

I got it from currys....subsequently found pcworld doing the same deal

2 gig ram.....120 meg HD....tbh I bought it for the missus

I vowed never to use PC world, but at the mommetn they have some cracking deals, got a PC from them yesturday at a bargin price , with a 22" LCD screen, loving the 1680 x 1050 res
