On a scale of 1 to dont bother; How hard would you say it is to swap the calipers, discs, pads and hoses (braided)
I have the complete set-up to swap over, but after getting a quote to fit them, i decided to attempt it myself But i am not sure whether i should attempt it or not.
I understand removing the calipers, discs, pads and what not, but i cant do and dont understand bleeding brakes or braided hoses.
Is it really that hard to do?
Thankyou for your time.

It aint fella, it is a piece of piss. IME the worst part is seperating the line where they mount on the inner wing to fit the braided ones.
If you can do meccano you can unbolt the callipers/discs etc, the only part you may struggle with if you have limited toold is the retention screw on the disc, you normally need an impact drive to remove it (or lots of heat).
To bleed the brakes you can get a cheap easibleed kit and have someone help you, you just need to communicate properly!

I used to be like that too as it is the most important thing IMO.
If you have an upgrade and are in no hurry for it then hold fire. I cannot work on cars in the crap weather months for health reasons but if you can hang fire 2 months or so, pop down to mine and we can throw them on, you buy dinner though - P.S. No funny business!

Marc, just nip to Halfords and get a brake bleeding kit - the cheap one does the job no problem, thats what I use.
Basically, follow Ed's thread in tutorials exactly and it should all go fine.
Just a quick point though, about the bleeding - If you use a bleeding kit, the hose will have a non-return valve in it, so when you attach the hose to the nipple, undo the nipple around 1/4 to 1/2 a turn.
Make sure no fluid leaks out around the nipple, as obviously if it does air can get in too. The good thing about using the kit with the non-return valve is you don't have to re-tighten the valve every pump before releasing the brake pedal!
Once you have opened the bleed nipple, just get somebody in the car to slowly pump the pedal for you, while every few pumps checking the fluid level in the reservoir.
Once all the bubbles in the bleeding tube have gone, tighten the bleed nipple up, remove the tube, top up the fluid again and your done!

Marc - its 156 miles from Nottingham, so thats 300 miles in total.
Make that one tank of fuel, so thats £35 for the fuel costs for the round trip.
£100 all in isn't too bad at all, unless you wanna try it yourself
