If you constantly ride the clutch, or ride it when changing gear for quite a while - What will eventually happen?

You'll have a distinct smell most of the time if the clutch is going, maybe, as happened on the last car I drove with a knackered clutch, when you put your foot down, it sounds as if it's in neutral and you get increased revs but no extra speed for a few moments.

Yeah there's been a problem for a while now.

Even though you have your foot down it doesnt seem to want to increase any speed, although doesnt increase many rev's and then it suddenly kicks in.

My dad rides the clutch stupidly...

Drove me to work this morning, and starting he ridden the clutch, 2nd gear, 3rd gear upto like 25 mph and then again in 4th for ages.

No wonder his car is knackered!
