right ive fitted a 1.4 8v c14nz engine to my corsa and when i finished it the oil light flickered a tiny bit.But now its on when the car gets warm until you rev it. It also rattles if you give it some stick. Ive changed the oil pressure switch and the oil and im goin to put a flush through and change oil again. If anyones got any ideas what it is can u let me know cheers

It could be a sticking oil pressure regulator but if the knocking noise sounds serious then the big ends could have had it, need someone with experience to have a listen really. would you say its a tapping or more of a knocking?

It has the potential to be quite serious Im afraid, do you know the history of the engine before you fitted it? If you dont have any friends who are good mechanics then a friendly garage should have a listen and give their opinion on it

well im a trainee mechanic and ive asked ppl at work and ive done stuff what they have said but basically its either shells or oil pump ive got down 2

That sounds about right. If the big ends have gone then the engine will struggle to hold oil pressure. do you know then engine was good before you fitted it?
