right took the carpet out my corsa today and started the job of stripping it out what i need to know is whats the best way of getting rid of the stuck on sound proofing not the foam the proper stuck on bits below it so its back to metal?

heat gun or halagen light. white spirite and lots of elbow grease btw place the halagen light flat over it light facing down. heats the stuff up

looks like white spirit for me as i got no electric in the garage its in anything else that might help?

leave the white spirit to soak as long as possible. i found an old credit card works well for scraping it off or even better a spreader found in bodyshops for filler etc

ok mate nice one i will have to grab alot of white spirit then and a spreader from the bodshop near me

i'll tell you how i got mine off......but keep it quiet.........There's 2 ways.......the hard way....and my way.

dont spend ages heating it up, making a big sticky mess.

Go find a load of old co2 fire extinguishers....with co2 left in them.......Lightly spray the floor with water, then use the co2 to freeze the stuff( maybe a square foot at a time).....then, a quick chap with a hammer...and the stuff breaks like ice !!!! all thats left is to pick it up....
