hay all i got a xe gsi and i got a slight problem with the breaks..

basicaly i think i got it susses but want some views on it..

basicaly when i put my foot on the breaks well they only work about a inch away from the floor.. car will stop but its one hell of a long bit of travel there..

cars had new pads, disks, shoes, drums.. so im thinking that its just got a majour air lock that needs bleeding.

Do you get the pedal to pump up with the ignition off?

Certainly bleed them first.

are the rear shoes adjusted as far out as they will go? Does it improve the pedal if the handbrake is on one click?
