yes, it can affect the engines performance drasticly.

It depends which pipe your on about.

Length of pipe between filter and inlet manifold - yes, a hell of a lot.

Length of cold air feed pipe (which I think your talking about) - Not at all.

From my interpretation of the theory, the longer the tube the less power, but more torque id produced.

That's why when a Lexmaul is fitted to a X14 or X16XE, you get a mssive increase in torque but small increase in power, as it keeps the pipe behind the engine block.

However, if a Mantzel is fitted which removes the long inlet and goes directly from the airfilter to inlet it produces higher power gains, but not as high torque.

I hope I'm right
