My computer has all of a sudden became infested with pop-ups etc, i want to format my c drive and start fresh but will need to boot mywindows xp media.

How do i create this? Google says a floppy is required, ihave no floppy drive.

You need to either create a set of recovery cd's if you can, or get a copy of XP on CD.

If you have your recovery discs they should be bootable, put the disc in your drive and reboot. Look for messages at the POST screen to load a boot menu and boot from CD, if nothing shows you'll have to change the boot order in your BIOS. Backup your data before you format your drive though

Get into your BIOS (usually by pushing F8 or similar) when you first turn your pc on. Set primary boot device to CD Drive. Save and exit the bios. Put XP CD into the CD drive, allow computer to boot up and it should say "press any key to boot from CD....." Push any key and the rest is self expanitary
