Right I need some help here.....
GF's car is a 93 1.2 8v and just as she was leaving for work this morning the rear wheels have locked solid. I have just dropped her off at work and as such I havnt had time to check it over yet.
What are the likely causes?
Handbrake cable locking on (I dont think so as the handbrake handle moves freeley and as normal
I have never worked with drums before so this is a (new) technology to me
I will be using the corsa knowledge base in order to solve todays project

Sounds like the brakes have just stuck, does it on mine if I dont drive it for a couple of days or if its been raining quite bad and you leave it to dry for a couple of days.
Just give it a bit of welly in reverse and 1st and should come free.

The car had been stood for a few days, but it was only like 3 days. Is it worth taking the wheels off and smacking the drums abit? Or just try giving it some beans?

I'd take the drum off and check the condition of the shoes and all the springs/adjusters.

Can do that if you want yes but sounds like more trouble than its worth, id just put it in reverse and give it a bit and it should give way.

I tried going backwards and forwards but it dosnt have enough power to free the drums
Whipped the wheels off and used the variable pressure applicator on then drums and they free'd with a couple taps. All sorted now

Mine was stuck on the driveway this morning - I don't think my neighbours were happy with me revving in reverse at 7 am
