i always thought you had to remove the bumper to get the headlights out, thats what it says in the haynes manual

You can squeeze the headlights out without the need for taking the bumper off.

bit more fiddley. but as said can be done with bumper still on..

watch out for breaking the headlight clip's though, - only cost a few pence for a new one though, if you break them..

mine was a bit tricky i just unscrewed two or three of bumper bolts on either side which gave me a lil more slack
