About to go and get one, but read online that there's no way of unlocking them yet....
Anybody know how to or know of ways to unlock them?

It doesn't matter, you have to sign up to an O2 contratc instore unless you're going for a PAYG one, in which case yes they can be unlocked but nit isnt really public knowledge yet, just some people who claim to have done it

Yeah i've got an upgrade on an old o2 contract. (Which i don't use)
It was due last march, and i forgot about it.

You can't upgrade to an iPhone 3G.
If you are an existing o2 customer they will just move you onto an iPhone tarrif.
