Just had the car serviced. Before it went in it needed new front springs. Got them fine. The problem was where the spring sits (the dish) - the lip is bent in under the spring. Nothing has been done or said about this by the garage even though they claim to have carried out a full diagnostic and have also had the suspension off!-
Any ideas?

Could you expand? It looks like the spring will be worn down by the bent metal?

Rock between the wheel and cup? Old accident....... bit odd but nothing to worry about.
Get a pair of mole grips on it or just take the shock off and hit it with a hammer.

The side bit is really only there to hold spring in place and takes no weight so should be a very easy task to bend back into line. Also check for further damage when shock is off
