Could someone please explain to me about wastegates? I believe they dump the air and recirculate into the turbo. Does the LET have a standard one or is the chatter the Turbo itself? I really like the sound of them but can you actually buy one?

standard LET turbo has an internal wastegate iirc

So that's what makes the chatter as its air going back into the Turbo? Whats an external wastegate then?

They don't dump air, they dump exhaust gas. They are used to regulate how much boost the turbo makes. When it gets up to boost the wastegate opens letting exhaust gas bypass the turbo, stopping it making too much boost.

You can buy external wastegates of different sizes yes, but the issue is having a manifold to match it.
